Welcome to The Revelstoke Garage’s ambitious and exciting project rebuilding a 1972 Chevy C60 service truck into our modern take on a veritable workhorse. Our vision for this classic involves a comprehensive overhaul, focusing on upgrading key components such as suspension, brakes, and powertrain to raise the bar with contemporary capabilities.

To achieve this transformation, we opted for 2006 Chevy Topkick 4WD axles, seamlessly integrating them to maintain the original Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). The incorporation of 4WD and 4-wheel disc brakes ensures enhanced stopping power, aligning with our commitment to modernize the truck’s performance.

A standout feature of this project is the integration of Air Ride suspension at the rear. This innovative system ensures a consistent ride height, irrespective of the load the truck carries. An engine-mounted air compressor has been strategically added to supply air not only to the suspension but also to facilitate on-demand air for tools and accessories, enhancing the truck’s functionality.

Under the hood, a powerful upgrade comes in the form of a Cummins 5.9 diesel engine. Known for its remarkable combination of power, fuel efficiency, and reliability, the Cummins engine is a key element in elevating the truck’s overall performance. Complementing this is the inclusion of a 6-speed Allison transmission, chosen for its robustness and double overdrive functionality, contributing to a smooth and efficient driving experience.

As the project unfolds starting to incorporate modern amenities;  Air conditioning will be seamlessly integrated, providing relief during long hours on the road, while a contemporary stereo system will add an element of entertainment and connectivity to the driving experience.
